Brock’s Counsellor of Choice (BCC) program provides students, staff, and faculty members with the ability to connect with a trauma-informed counsellor with specialized training in supporting individuals with gender-based harm. Initially focused on issues related to gender and sexual violence, the program has recently broadened its scope to include support for other types of discrimination and harm, such as harassment, racism, ableism, and bullying.

The goal of the BCC is to provide a diverse list of counselors with varied identities, lived experiences, and areas of expertise, enabling participants to access culturally relevant and responsive support based on their individual needs.

Program Eligibility

Eligibility for the BCC program is determined by a needs-based assessment. To learn more about the BCC program or to find out if you are eligible for this program, email svsec@brocku.ca to connect with a member of our GSV intake team.
