The following resources provide urgent and non-urgent physical and mental medical care for sexual assault survivors.
It is important to seek physical medical attention after experiencing an assault, even if there are no visible injuries, or if you do not want to report to the police. Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Programs DO NOT report assaults to the police.

Public Physical Health Resources
Regional unit at the St. Catharines General Hospital for all sexual assault and domestic violence services. They can gather sexual assault evidence kit, give you medical attention, perform STI and pregnancy testing and prevention, and provide free counselling. This service DOES NOT report cases to the police.

Response team located at Hamilton General Hospital and McMaster Children’s Hospital for all sexual assault and domestic violence services. They can gather a sexual assault evidence kit, give you medical attention, perform STI and pregnancy testing and prevention, and provide free counselling. These locations do not report assault cases to police. You can request to see a SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) to receive this service.

A resource that connects people to available Sexual Health Centres around the Niagara region. Sexual Health Centres in Niagara may provide STI testing and treatment, birth control, pregnancy testing, morning after pill, unplanned pregnancy options and counselling, free condoms and a men’s clinic. All services are free and confidential. You do not need a health card to access these services.
A resource that connects people to available Sexual Health Centres around the Hamilton Region. Sexual Health Clinics in the Hamilton Region offer information on safer sex practices, low-cost birth control (based on eligibility), low-cost Emergency Contraceptive Pill, free pregnancy testing, free STI testing and treatment, free condoms free hepatitis A and B vaccines for persons at risk, and free needle exchange and harm reduction supplies.

Quest is a primary health care clinic that provides services to individuals experiencing social, economic and cultural barriers. They place emphasis on caring for: individuals without a healthcare provider who are also experiencing mental health, addictions or concurrent disorders, street-involved populations (homeless, under-housed, sex trade workers), isolated seniors, sexually and gender diverse populations (LGBTQ+), at-risk children, youth and families, individuals who frequent the Emergency Department for care/opioid-dependent (USAT), Migrant Agricultural Workers (MAWP).
