DeCew Residence, which accommodates 414 students, is a low-rise building composed of 10 linked houses. The house system gives a special character and warmth to DeCew life. The sense of family that develops among the members of each house is an important part of residence spirit.
Spring 2021 marked the completion of an extensive renewal project that included significant renovations to all bedrooms, washrooms, lounge areas, and community spaces.
- Most rooms are arranged with adjoining lounges (TV, white boards, study space) for six, with two double rooms and two single rooms.
- Every floor in DeCew Residence has four double rooms and four single rooms sharing two 3-piece washrooms and two lounges (TV with cable).
- A meal plan is mandatory.
- Wireless internet and phone for on-campus and local calls.
DeCew is also home to the DeCew Dining Hall, the North Service Desk (24/7 support), Allanburg Lounge, Merritt Lounge, Community Meeting Place, and several University offices. Common spaces have an abundance of natural light and provide opportunities for activities like social gatherings, gaming and group study.
