Interested in pursuing a career in the legal field? Law Plus is a four-year non-credit program which runs concurrently with students’ academic study.
Learn about and build experience in the legal field through this unique co-curricular program that includes job shadowing, networking opportunities with law professionals, skill development workshops and community service projects. In partnership with area law firms, public and private organizations and practitioners, Law Plus will provide you with practical experience and the most up-to-date information about pursuing a career in law. This program is highly competitive and will help develop your competitive edge when applying to professional law programs.
Students who complete Law Plus go on to pursue further education in law and government, financial law, education law and policy, criminal justice, graduate school and more.
What’s involved?

We help you secure volunteer positions in Niagara where you make valuable connections and gain experience at legal-related, community agencies.

Speaker series and observational visits help Law Plus students connect with Law professionals. Professionals talk openly about their careers, schooling and the clients with whom they work.

Law Plus students can experience “a day in the life” of a legal professional.

Our workshops include leadership skills, career exploration, professional school application and LSAT preparation.

Senior students share their experiences and offer support and guidance to first-year Law Plus students.
Students participate in individual and group meetings with the Law Plus Consultant to discuss progress, career plans, volunteer work, course load and the Law Plus curriculum.
