    Advancing health-care education

Brock University welcomed Halton Healthcare President and CEO Melissa Farrell (second from right) and colleagues to campus on Aug. 27 to explore opportunities for collaboration in health-care education and workforce development. Along with Brock President and Vice-Chancellor Lesley Rigg (right), faculty and staff, the group toured the University's health sciences teaching, research and training spaces, including the Brock Functional Inclusive Training Centre and Nursing Simulation Lab. Discussions focused on expanding clinical learning opportunities, strengthening pathways into health careers and preparing the next generation of health-care professionals while responding to evolving community needs.

We acknowledge the land on which Brock University was built is the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee (ho-din-anish-shonee) and Anishinaabe (A-nish-shin-aaabee) people, many of whom continue to live and work here today. This territory is covered by the Upper Canada Treaties and is within the land protected by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum agreement. Today, this gathering place is home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit, and acknowledging reminds us that our great standard of living is directly related to the resources and friendship of Indigenous people.
