Relaxation workshop among free learning opportunities in April employee wellness calendar

When life gets busy, it’s important to take time to relax.

Relaxation is different for everyone. To one person, it might mean pausing to sip on a cup of coffee, meditating as the warmth from the mug heats their fingers. For others, relaxing might be stretching, going for a walk, doodling, listening to music or laughing one’s stresses away.

An upcoming relaxation workshop is one of several free learning opportunities available to Brock employees that are highlighted in the April wellness calendar prepared by the University’s Health Management team.

Customize a Relaxation Practice that Works for You will take place Wednesday, April 13 from noon to 12:45 p.m. via Microsoft Teams.

The April Employee Wellness Calendar also includes:

Employees can visit the Health, Safety and Wellness Toolbox on SharePoint to access monthly employee wellness calendars, the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation’s workplace kindness calendar and several video recordings of previous wellness seminars.

The toolbox also includes a listing of resources from LifeWorks wellness newsletters on topics such as sleep, mindfulness, SMART goals and coping with a traumatic event. The April LifeWorks newsletter features a video on how to work remotely with children and an article on keeping your relationship strong when you’re a stepfamily.

Questions or suggestions for upcoming employee wellness initiatives can be emailed to employeehealth@brocku.ca
