Auditions for Brock University Choirs begin in August

Singers across campus and in the Niagara community are encouraged to warm up their pipes as Brock’s Department of Music searches for new voices to join its established choirs.

Both the Brock University Chamber Choir and Women’s Choir are open by audition to all Brock students, staff and faculty, and the Women’s Choir is also open to members of the broader Niagara community.

Brock students who successfully audition can also enrol in choir for academic credit, if they so choose.

The choirs will once again be led by Conductor Rachel Rensink-Hoff and auditions will begin in August.

Previous singing experience and the ability to read music is required.

All singers accepted into the choir are expected to attend all rehearsals and performances throughout the year.

Rehearsals begin the week of Sept. 10 in preparation for concerts throughout the year.

The Chamber Choir rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3 to 4:20 p.m. and the Women’s Choir rehearses Thursdays from 6 to 8:45 p.m.

Visit the Department of Music’s website to register for an audition time or to learn more about Brock’s choirs.

For more information about the audition process, please contact Rensink-Hoff at rrensinkhoff@brocku.ca or the Music Department at music@brocku.ca
