  • International alumni asked to share their experiences

An international student committee is seeking Brock University graduates from the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences to share their student experiences and career stories with current international students at an upcoming panel discussion and networking event.

Set to take place in person at Brock during International Education Week, Monday, Nov. 18 to Friday, Nov. 22, the panel will feature individuals who came to Canada from another country to study an academic program within Brock’s Faculty of Applied Health Sciences and are now working in Canada.

Aryan Purkayastha, a third-year international student studying Sport Management who is helping organize the event, hopes the event will offer current Brock international students a unique opportunity to meet, listen to and interact with graduates who shared similar experiences to them.

“We want to show students that despite leaving home and starting a new life in a new country, it is possible to be successful and do well,” he says. “We are hoping alumni will come to speak at the event and network with students, by sharing their life experiences and their journey from international student to working professional, and by answering any questions students might have.”

Alumni participants will be provided in advance with the questions being asked as part of the panel discussion.

Graduates interested in participating in an in-person panel discussion during International Education Week are asked to email [email protected]

Any alumni interested in future opportunities to engage with current students via panel discussions, industry night events and more, in person or virtual, can email [email protected]

  • Alumni feedback sought on their experience with academic programs

Alumni from the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences are encouraged to participate in an external review of the academic program(s) they graduated from.

Health Sciences graduates should have already received a survey invitation. The survey closes Monday, Nov. 25.
