Brock University has always been a popular choice among Ontario secondary school students. Our reputation for rigorous academics, high-level athletics, and world-class extra-curricular activities set us apart. Though every student contributes to fostering the learning environment and strong sense of community at Brock, Ontario secondary school students are our largest group of applicants.

Offer timelines
Early Offers
A select number of offers are issued in December. To be eligible for an early offer you must have completed a minimum of six Grade 11 U or M-level credits and be registered in a minimum of six Grade 12 U or M-level courses. Expected averages for early offers are in the high 80s or 90s. Note: Competitive programs, such as Nursing or Concurrent Education may not issue early offers.
Standard Offers
The first major round of admission offers to Ontario applicants is in February. Admission averages are calculated using a minimum three first-semester Grade 12 4U or 4M finals, with registration in three additional 4U or 4M credits, including prerequisites. If you are in a non-semester school, we will use six mid-term grades at the Grade 12 4U or 4M level, including prerequisites.
Final Offers
The final round of admission offers happens in May. If you do not receive an offer in February, or if you are still in studies and received an alternate program offer, we will automatically reassess you for eligibility for your top choice program in May. Before the June 2 deadline to accept, check your OUAC portal to ensure you have accepted the most recent offer of admission issued. If you accepted an earlier offer and the offer has changed, you must accept the new offer.
Amended Offers
We will continue to make and amend offers based on the latest grades we have for you and based on space availability. When we receive your FINAL grades in July, we will review your application one more time to ensure you have met the conditions of your offer. You should check your results too and take immediate action if you do not meet the conditions. If you are unsure, email admissions@brocku.ca immediately. If you have not met the conditions of your offer, we may offer you admission to an alternate program or we may be required to revoke your offer. Summer school is the only way to attempt to meet the conditions of your offer and avoid having your offer changed or revoked.
Summer School
If you choose to attend summer school to meet the conditions of your offer, we recommend you attend the earliest possible session(s) in July. You must:
- email Admissions before June 27 to notify us that you are attending
- include proof of summer school registration in your email to us
- ensure your school provides final grades to OUAC, as all grades must be received by Brock by August 15
When selecting the institution or organization delivering summer school studies, please check with them first to ensure they can provide your final grades by August 15.
International Baccalaureate (IB) and OSSD studies
If you are completing the IB program and will graduate with the OSSD, your courses and IB grades will be translated to equivalent Ontario curriculum courses and grades. Your grades and courses will automatically be forwarded to us from your school via OUAC. You may be awarded up to 3.0 transfer credits for HL examinations completed at a minimum grade of 5 (one full year at Brock equals 5.0 credits). Graduates of the full IB diploma will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Applicants who successfully complete an IB certificate program with a minimum of six subjects, including prerequisites, may also be considered for admission and transfer credit. For information regarding transfer credit and course equivalencies, email futurestudent@brocku.ca.
Advanced Placement (AP) and OSSD studies
If you are completing advanced placement courses as part of your OSSD, you may qualify for transfer credit with examination grades of 4, to a maximum of 2.0 Brock credits (one full year at Brock equals 5. 0 credits). An official AP transcript is required for the evaluation process. For information regarding course equivalencies, email futurestudent@brocku.ca.
