The Goodman School of Business has its first-ever full-time dean, and he won’t need any help finding his way to the office. Don Cyr has been interim Dean of Business at Brock for 16 months, and has now accepted an appointment as Dean of the Goodman School. The five-year appointment takes effect on July 1, and until then he will remain as interim dean.

New director of institutional analysis and planning named

Joanne McKee, Interim Vice President, Finance and Greg Finn, Vice Provost and Associate Vice President, Academic are pleased to announce the appointment of Juan Xu to the position of Director of Institutional Analysis and Planning effective September 1, 2012. This new position will report directly to the Office of the Provost, through Vice-Provost and Associate Vice-President, Academic.

Dr. Xu brings to this position extensive institutional analysis experience with wide-ranging knowledge of Brock and Ontario’s enrolment, tuition funding and data analysis. Dr. Xu has developed many important contacts and collaborates with colleagues across Ontario and Canada through publications and presentations at various institutional analysis and research forums.

Previously, Dr. Xu served as Manager, Institutional Analysis at Brock since 2005. Her educational background includes a PhD degree in Educational Leadership and Higher Education with a concentration in Management Information Systems from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln; Master of Engineering in Higher Education Management and a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering Management Systems.

We know Juan will build on her strengths and success to date and will take on this new, higher level leadership position with enthusiasm, commitment and collegiality.

We would like to thank the Selection Committee and the members of the Stenton Task Force that have assisted in the development and recruitment of this key position.
