These areas work cohesively to support the mission of the University and on the delivery of its Institutional Strategic Plan.

Ancillary Services
Provides products and services that enhance the student’s experience at Brock while striving to be a valued partner for events and services that occur on campus throughout the year.
The core functions and areas of oversight include:
Dining Services and Brock Card
- Provides food, beverage, and vending options on campus.
- Provides services related to the management of the student ID (Brock Card).
- Manages equipment, capital, franchise agreements, and several service contracts.
Residence Administration and Operations
- Provides a positive, safe living and learning experience on campus.
Campus Store
- Manages the retail environment on campus with focus on course material and Brock apparel.
Conference and Event Services
- Coordinates the usage of the University’s facilities for conference purposes and internal events.
Parking Services
- Manages parking on campus including special events, parking lot maintenance, permit issuance, parking payment systems and parking lot enforcement.
Community Agreements
- Provides support for the University’s community agreements.
Support Services
- Work directly with business units to support daily tasks along with strategic and business development planning and execution.

Director, Campus Safety Services
Campus Safety Services
Responsible for the safety and security of the Brock University community including Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts.
Works in partnership with all external emergency responders, surrounding community partners and citizens of the Niagara region.
The core functions and areas of oversight include:
- Ensuring the safety and security of Brock students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the University and campuses.
- Provides maintenance of Emergency Management and Fire Safety including coordination of specific emergency plans prepared by each department.
- Communicates and coordinates emergency response plans with Community Emergency Management Coordinators at the Regional Municipality of Niagara, each of the 12 municipalities, police, fire, EMS, and other stakeholders.
- Works closely with IT-telecommunications staff in the operation of the Mass Notification System to advise members of the Brock community of an emergency on/off campus quickly and efficiently.

Responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to align the management and development of Brock’s most important assets – its people.
The core functions and areas of oversight includes five main portfolios of service:
- HR Services – HR advising with single points of entry into HR talent acquisition services.
- Total Rewards & Payroll – compensation & rewards, benefits, and pension.
- Organizational Design and Development – includes organizational learning.
- Faculty & Staff Relations – union, non-union labour/employee relations services.
- Health, Safety & Wellness – occupational health and safety, lab safety, disability management and wellness.
Scott Johnstone
Associate Vice-President, Infrastructure & Operations, Facilities Management
Facilities Management
Committed to providing a safe, clean, productive, and well-maintained physical environment for the University community.
Plans and delivers professional services that are inclusive, sustainable, accessible, and supportive of academic excellence.
Oversees the development, construction, operation, maintenance, and stewardship of over $1 billion in assets including buildings, infrastructure sites, and ground services.
The core functions and areas of oversight include:
- Managing campus utilities, delivering reliable and cost-effective power, heating and cooling of the campus.
- Advancing sustainability, maintaining environmental and technical compliance while actively managing Brock’s carbon.
- Administering the daily developments of the University including over $100M Major Capital Projects.
- Management, maintenance, and repairing of buildings’ architectural, structural, electrical, and mechanical systems as well as modernizing all utilities and infrastructure assets.
- Maintaining the campus grounds, parking lots, snow, and ice removal.
- Custodial staff providing services comprising of facility access, key lock management and maintenance as well as cleaning tasks that are developed in accordance with APPA standards.
- Space management and planning support including facility access, key lock management and maintenance.

Information Technology Services
Provides effective technology environments for academics, research and operations.
The core functions and areas of oversight are divided into five teams:
- Enterprise Solutions – designs, enables, integrates and manages services and systems to meet the University’s strategic objectives.
- Client Services – aims to support the extended Brock community and address technology incidents and services requests.
- Infrastructure – provides information technology services for both public and private cloud computing, data storage, information and physical security as well as voice and data communication and collaboration platforms.
- Information Security – provides services, resources, guidance and support to enhance security and safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Brock information resources.
- Project and Administrative Support – supports the various technological aspects of the University.
Robert Cargnelli
Internal Auditor and Associate Vice President, Risk Management
Internal Audit and University Risk Management
Internal Audit reports formally to the Board of Trustees and administratively to the Vice-President, Administration.
The core functions and areas of oversight include:
- Conducting Internal Audit engagements.
- Developing informed opinions and recommendations based on objective and subjective factors, taking into consideration various contexts.
- Developing methodologies consistent with Internal Audit Association’s requirements for universities.
- Performing control reviews and process improvements and redesign.
