Courtney Bishop is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Disability Studies. Dr. Bishop holds a PhD in Child and Youth Studies and a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies from Brock University. She is a Registered Behaviour Analyst (Ont.) and Board-Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) with over 20 years of experience working as a Researcher and Clinician alongside community organizations supporting adults labelled with an Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability.
Her academic and clinical work centers on enhancing the quality of life and promoting the human rights of persons labelled with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. As a Clinician, Researcher, and Educator, she is dedicated to advancing inclusive, participatory, and socially just approaches to research and practice, with a focus on a sustained commitment to empowerment, dignity, and meaningful engagement for communities, organizations, families, and persons labelled with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. Her approach to practice and research emphasizes collaborative decision-making, interdisciplinary consultation, and system-wide service enhancement—particularly for individuals with complex behavioural and support needs.

- Integration of applied behaviour analysis and single-subject research designs with community-based, participatory and inclusive research practices to improve service delivery and personal outcomes across the developmental sector
