Social Relationships and Mental Health

How do youth social relationships impact young adulthood mental health?

We aim to explore:

  • How do high school experiences with bullying and victimization relate to young adulthood mental health (e.g., depression, anxiety, stress, loneliness)?
  • How do high school experiences with bullying and victimization relate to young adulthood violence (e.g., indirect aggression, dating violence)?
  • Do these associations differ by youth personality, home, school, and community environments?
  • Do these associations differ by demographic characteristics (e.g., ethnicity, gender, immigration status)?

This project is funded by the Brock University BSIG Explore Grant.
