Thesis defences — July 17 to July 21

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, July 17 and Friday, July 21.

Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences thesis defence

Valerie Pagnotta, a Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Insufficient sleep, impaired sleep, and injury in Canadian adolescents: a cross-sectional analysis of the 2017/18 Health Behaviour in School-aged Children study” on Thursday, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Val Michaelson, Chair; Will Pickett and Jason Liu, Supervisors; Brent Hagel, External Examiner (Alberta Health Services); and Michelle Vine, Committee Member.

Joint PhD in Educational Studies thesis defence

Anneke McCabe, a Joint PhD in Educational Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Evoking a Soundscape: Inquiry into Musician-Music Teachers’ Narratives” on Thursday, July 20 from 1 to 4 p.m.  in PLZ 600F.

The examination committee members are Wendy Ward, Chair; Shelley Griffin, Supervisor; Liora Bresler, External Examiner (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign); Maureen Connolly, Internal Examiner; and Kari-Lynn Winters and Danielle Sirek (University of Windsor), Advisory Committee.

Master of Science in Management (Operations and Information Systems Stream) thesis defence 

Shodhanth Ramaswany, a Master of Science in Management candidate, will defend the thesis “Landlord and Tenant Matching System: A Design Science Framework” on Friday, June 21 at 9 a.m. in virtual format.

The examination committee includes Joseph Kushner, Chair; Anteneh Ayanso, Supervisor; Bhavik Pathak, External Examiner (Indiana University) and Martin Kusy and Shuai Yuan, Committee Members.
