Drop-in academic advising available at new location

Brock Academic Advising is offering undergraduate students two weeks of in-person, drop-in advising at a convenient new location.

Formerly known as Central Academic Advising, the Brock Academic Advising team will be available in Thistle Complex 208 Monday to Friday from 9:30 and 11:30 a.m., and 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. until Friday, Sept. 16. The team’s offices are located at the far end of the hallway that contains Sean O’Sullivan Theatre, near the exterior doors leading to Alphie’s Trough.

While the Brock Academic Advising team is primarily responsible for assisting students in the General Humanities, General Social Sciences and General Sciences bachelor programs with their degree progression, all Brock undergraduate students are welcome to seek academic advising support regarding a variety of topics, such as:

  • Choosing courses
  • Dropping or withdrawing from a course
  • Changing or adding a major or minor
  • Returning from an absence
  • Academic standing
  • Academic difficulty
  • Academic policies, procedures and regulations
  • Information about important dates and deadlines throughout the academic year
  • Quick general questions about the University

Quick general questions can also be emailed to advisor@brocku.ca

Undergraduate students in a declared major program who have specific inquiries about their degree requirements are asked to contact their department/Faculty’s academic advisor. A list of department-specific academic advisors is available on the Academic Advising website.

Graduate students seeking academic advising support are asked to connect with the Graduate Program Director of the program they’re interested in. Contact information for each director can be found on the related program page, listed on the Faculty of Graduate Studies website.

Brock Academic Advising will not be offering booked appointment times during the two weeks of drop-in hours. Regular delivery of services, including live online chat and booked phone and in-person appointments, will resume Monday, Sept. 19. Visit brocku.ca/academic-advising for more information.
