Registration open for Gender and Sexual Violence Support Certificate workshops

Members of the Brock community are invited to take part in the University’s Gender and Sexual Violence Support Certificate workshops this winter.

A series of 10 free virtual workshops will begin Tuesday, Jan. 26, with each taking an intersectional approach to confronting sexual violence by highlighting different communities’ perspectives.

The workshops, which include topics such as consent and disclosure, and BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour) perspectives, will raise awareness of sexual violence through a 30-minute educational module on SAKAI and an hour-long Microsoft Teams seminar session to discuss what was learned.

Participants who complete five workshops over the course of the year will be awarded the Standard Sexual Violence Education and Support Certificate, while those who complete all 10 workshops will be awarded the Advanced Sexual Violence Education and Support Certificate.

Anyone interested in taking part is asked to register on Experience BU for the event at least three hours before the scheduled seminar and to complete the Sakai module before the Teams seminar begins.
