Union ‘confident’ beatboxing record broken

Brock is sending its information to Guinness in hopes that it has broken the world record for the largest ever human beatbox ensemble.

The Brock University Students’ Union (BUSU) attempted the record on Sept. 6 during the annual Tower Party. Ryerson University holds the current record for simultaneous beatboxing with 961 people.

A documented 1,438 people participated in the Brock effort, BUSU president Sohail Ahmed said. Organizers are now sending supporting materials, like photos and video, to get the record confirmed by Guinness World Records.

“We’ve beat it. We’re confident we’ve beat it,” he said. “We’re confident that we followed the guidelines, and when Guinness World Records gets it, they’ll tell us congratulations.”

Brock also holds the world record for the most people simultaneously playing air guitar.
