Brock’s record challenged

Rutgers University didn’t quite beat Brock’s air guitar world record, but it did raise more than $4,000 for music and art programs.

The New Brunswick, N.J. university attempted on March 5 to bust Brock’s record of 1,436 people simultaneously playing air guitar. Brock students achieved the Guinness World Record at a Metric O-Week concert in September.

Rutgers students raised money for the New Brunswick school district.

“Will I say this is a failure? Absolutely not,” Alexandria Intravatola, Vice President of Spirit and Special Events with the university’s programming association, told the Rutgers Daily Targum. “This event was still successful for many people.”

I believe this is the 4th or 5th time that some organization around the world has attempted to beat our record!

No-one has come even close to beating us!

FYI: The certificate for our record is in the BUSU Office in case anyone ever wants a photo with it 🙂
