Women in Leadership event to explore work-life balance for leaders

Chair of Brock’s Department of Music Karin Di Bella says that, contrary to popular belief, leaders do not need to work around the clock. In her upcoming Women in Leadership presentation, Di Bella will share concrete tools attendees can use to preserve their personal space in a world where they are always in demand.

“Many women shy away from positions of leadership for fear that they become consumed by the demands of their role. But, with some strategic boundaries in place, it is possible to navigate the world of leadership and still have a life outside of it,” says Di Bella, who is also an Associate Professor of Music.

Di Bella’s presentation, “Testing the Balance: Lead without losing yourself,” will take place on Wednesday, May 1 from noon to 1 p.m. on Microsoft Teams. Details on this and other upcoming Women in Leadership sessions, including dates, descriptions and login information, are available on the WIL website.

Women in Leadership is committed to supporting and advancing persons who identify as women to achieve and succeed in leadership. All are welcome. Individuals can join the WIL channel on Microsoft Teams or contact Jeannie Mackintosh to be added to the WIL email distribution list.
