The Disestablishmentarian: A journal of contemporary sociocultural inquiry and experiment
Call for Papers

The Disestablishmentarian, an interdisciplinary graduate student journal associated with Concordia University’s department of Sociology and Anthropology, is actively seeking submissions of original work for its first annual edition.
We welcome submissions from a variety of disciplines addressing social and cultural issues. Ideally, research submitted will exemplify our mission by extending beyond limited disciplinary parameters to gain a more comprehensive understanding of complex challenges we face in contemporary society. Projects that include a variety of theoretical and methodological approaches are welcome.
We will not accept papers which have been published or are currently being considered for publication elsewhere.
We encourage graduate students (MA and PhD) to submit their papers to: journal.sagsa@gmail.com by midnight on May 31, 2015. Submission Guidelines:
- 20-25 pages double spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font, 1” margins
- Referencing using APA citation
- Not previously published
- Original piece of work
- An abstract of 200-250 words
- Name of author and institutional affiliation
Peer Review Recruitment
The editorial board of The Disestablishmentarian, a graduate student journal in the department of sociology and anthropology at Concordia University, is seeking peer reviewers for our journal. The Disestablishmentarian is an interdisciplinary journal seeking to showcase research that extends beyond traditional disciplinary and methodological boundaries. In order to accomplish this goal, we require peer reviewers from diverse backgrounds who can offer their expertise and input.
We are seeking peers at the Masters and PhD level, as well as reviewers who have proceeded beyond these levels. More seasoned reviewers allow for a structure in which less experienced reviewers can be exposed to models of review. We believe that the publication process can be a learning opportunity for both authors and reviewers, and strive to provide this type of environment.
We would be grateful if you could assist us in fulfilling our mission by agreeing to become a member of our team as a peer reviewer for the 2016 edition of the journal.
In the event that you agree to become a peer reviewer for The Disestablishmentarian, every effort will be made to ensure that any work which you are asked to review will fall within your scope of research interest. In order to best facilitate this procedure, we ask that you submit to us a list of research areas in which you feel comfortable reviewing by May 15, 2015 at the latest.
