#TravelTuesday Journey Far

A student exchange offers the chance to travel the world and the opportunity to be immersed in a new culture. Goodman has partnerships across the globe and this week, we will be highlighting some of our distant partner schools through Asia and Australia.

Living in Asia has a different experience and feel in comparison to Canada. It is a land filled with many different languages, foods, customs and landscapes. Asia is a large and fast growing market, making it an excellent location to study Business for a semester.

Partner Schools

China

University of International Business and Economics

Beijing is the third most populated city in the world and one of the oldest, dating back over three thousand years in history. It is also home to UIBE, one of China’s most competitive universities highly recognized for its economics and finance programs. China is one of the largest and fastest growing markets in the world, and a semester in this location would provide invaluable experience relevant to those interested in working for global businesses in the future.

Singapore

Singapore is one of the safest, most modern cities in the world and the weather is usually sunny. The SMU campus has a fantastic view of the city and even has a rooftop pool. The city and campus are ethnically diverse and offer a great way to experience Asia without a shocking cultural change.

South Korea

South Korea is full of kind people who are pleased to welcome you to their peaceful country. They are a highly developed country, ranking 22nd in the world on the Human Development Index.  SolBridge is located in Daejeon, which is approximately 50 minutes away from Seoul by high-speed train. SolBridge is AACSB accredited and was recognized in 2016 for its commitment to engagement, innovation and impact.

Taiwan

National Chung Cheng University

National Chung Cheng University is located in Minxiong, a small township in Taiwan. This country contains mountains, forests and bustling cities. The university offers accommodation for a subsidized rate of around $75/month! The campus is situated in a lakeside park and includes a massive gymnasium that hosts two Olympic sized pools, a roller-skating rink, bowling alleys, rock climbing walls and various other equipment for different sports.

 

If you are not considering Asia, you can still journey far to the land down under.

Australia

University of South Australia

Australia – the distant land of hopping kangaroos, lazy sloths, koalas and white sand beaches beside azure waters. Goodman students can take the flight around the globe to study at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, a city recognized as #1 World’s Rising Star Destination by trip.com in 2017 and in the top 10 world’s most livable cities according to the 2018 Economist Intelligence Unit.

If you are interested in taking your studies across the globe, contact the Goodman International Programs Office through the Goodman portal or by e-mail at business.exchange@brocku.ca. Additionally, you can meet in person by booking an appointment through the portal or by coming to Walk In hours from 2-4:00, Tuesday-Thursday in GSB 475R.
