The Avian Ensemble
This inaugural concert by the Avian Ensemble features two of the Niagara Symphony's distinguished principal woodwind players and a brilliant pianist in a wide range of fascinating repertoire. Central to the program will be Four Fables by the Canadian/American composer Karim Al-Zand, an exciting and recent narrative work based on Aesop's animal stories. Original works for flute, clarinet and piano by Saint-Saëns and Florent Schmitt will flank arrangements of popular works from the orchestral and operatic traditions.
