Community Consultations

Development of activity programs for community members who require 1:1 or greater supports. This is  SOTL research as well as having  scholarships of discovery, integration and application characteristics. We are applying the Station Based Pedagogy approach with an Embedded Curriculum and interacting with community partners in the disability services sector.

Planning for NAFAPA

The North American Federation of Adapted Physical Activity bi-annual conference and meeting will be hosted at Brock University in October 2022. This conference is supported by the Office of the Dean of FAHS and the BNCEIAPA and has a planning committee comprised of faculty and staff from FAHS and other sectors of the University (HRE, Conference Services, Marketing and Communications).

SNAP Sacks

These are a ‘station in a bag’ which contain the elements to construct a station at home with instructions on activities to accompany the station set up. There are a variety of SNAP SACK options, including fine motor skills, gross motor skills and fitness skills.

SNAP and Side By Side (SXS) online

Online activity and social programs offer community members opportunities to be active in adaptive activity and in facilitated inclusive social activities. This project includes research on activity during COVID as well as SOTL and Scholarships of integration and application.
