The Niagara community is invited to help ring in the Year of the Rooster.
The Chinese Cultural Association of Niagara, the Confucius Institute at Brock University and the Goodman School of Business are together hosting what is expected to be the largest celebration of the Chinese New Year in Niagara.
Also known as Spring Festival, this important cultural event marks the turn of the lunisolar Chinese calendar. It kicks off a two-week celebration leading up to the traditional Lantern Festival in February.
This year’s Chinese New Year event will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the Merritton Community Centre. After a buffet dinner, the celebration will feature Chinese cultural and artistic performances.
