Badgers from across Brock’s near 60 years to return for Homecoming celebration

MEDIA RELEASE: September 13 2023 – R0081

Both recent and established Brock graduates will come together to connect, reminisce and celebrate during the return of the University’s Homecoming event beginning this weekend.

Running from Saturday, Sept. 16 to Sunday, Sept. 24, Homecoming includes a variety of activities combining beloved Badger traditions, new experiences and virtual educational programming open to graduates from around the globe.

The festivities begin with the Alumni Recognition Reception on Sept. 16, with 10 outstanding Brock grads honoured for their community contributions and professional accomplishments.

“Our graduates have gone on to make a difference in their respective fields and communities, using their passions to better the world in many ways,” says Kim Post, Interim Director of Alumni Relations. “These exceptional alumni are an inspiration to the next generation of Badgers who will follow in their footsteps — and perhaps connect with them someday at a future Homecoming event.”

In addition to much-anticipated reunions, highlights of this year’s Homecoming include the return of fan-favourite events: the Steel Blade Classic hockey game with alumni VIP experience on Friday, Sept. 22 and Brock Night at the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival on Saturday, Sept. 23.

New to the lineup is the Badger Bazaar, which will see more than 50 Brock alumni and student makers and entrepreneurs take over St. Catharines Market Square to share their creations on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will also include food trucks, live music and complimentary face painting. The first 150 people to visit the Alumni booth at the event will receive a Brock Homecoming sprinkle doughnut from Beechwood Doughnuts, co-owned by Brock grad Tayler Book (BA ’14). This event is open to the public and is free to attend.

“Homecoming is more than a walk down memory lane, it’s a reminder to our graduates that they’ll always be a part of the Brock family,” Post says. “We cannot wait to welcome them home.”
