MEDIA RELEASE: 21 May 2019 – R00084
Scholars from around the world are headed to Brock University as Canada’s largest business and management conference is set to be held on campus this weekend.
Hosted by Brock’s Goodman School of Business, the annual Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC) conference will welcome more than 400 academics to the University from Friday, May 24 to Monday, May 27.
“We are excited to welcome our colleagues from across Canada and internationally to Goodman,” said Dean Andrew Gaudes. “Conferences like ASAC play an important role in fostering the strong research and innovation culture Canada is developing in this field.”
The conference has 20 divisions focusing discussion across traditional business disciplines as well as areas such as social responsibility, tourism and sport management.
Goodman Associate Professor of Marketing Eric Dolansky is the University liaison for the conference and says the theme of this year’s gathering is “Harvest.”
“The theme was chosen because of the event’s location in Niagara and the importance of agribusiness in Canada, but also because the word harvest can be used in in different contexts,” he said.
