MEDIA RELEASE: 14 September 2017 – R00165
The messiest event of the year returns to Brock University on Friday, Sept. 15.
The annual Grape Stomp takes place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Brock’s Jubilee Court, where teams of students will compete for prizes by dressing up in costumes and stomping away on a metric tonne of Concord grapes.
A group of children from the Rosalind Blauer Centre for Child Care on the Brock campus will get the party started by stomping their own piles of grapes at 12:30 p.m.
Around 750 Brock students will then get their chance to take part in the messy tradition, which has been ranked No. 2 out of the top Canadian university traditions by University Affairs Magazine.
The Grape Stomp event will also feature live music and a free barbecue.
Members of the media are invited to attend the spectacle, and can take part if they’re interested.
