On September 21, 2018, representatives from Brock University and OSSTF reached a tentative agreement for a renewal collective agreement.
Details of the tentative agreement will be released once it has been ratified by the parties.
OSSTF represents administrative and support staff across the University and the previous collective agreement expired on April 30, 2018.
On July 24, 2018, OSSTF-35, which represents Office, Clerical, Administrative, and Library Support employees at Brock University, filed a request for the appointment of a conciliation officer, following nineteen meetings between the parties. The collective agreement between the University and OSSTF-District 35 expired on April 30, 2018.
Conciliation is a process by which a union or employer can apply to the Ontario Ministry of Labour for help in reaching a collective agreement.
The University remains committed to reaching a negotiated settlement, and looks forward to continuing discussions with OSSTF-35 to reach a collective agreement.
