  • Tentative agreement with CUPE 4207-4 ratified

    Brock University and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 4207-4 (CUPE 4207-4) reached a tentative agreement for a first collective agreement on May 28, 2024. On June 26, the agreement was ratified by Brock’s Board of Trustees. Previously, CUPE 4207-4 members voted in favour of ratification on June 5.

    CUPE 4207-4 represents Clinical Nursing Instructors. The three-year agreement is in effect from Feb. 6, 2023 to Feb. 5, 2026.

    A draft of the new collective agreement will be available on the University’s website in the near future.

  • Brock and CUPE 4207-4 reach tentative deal

    Representatives from Brock University and the Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 4207 Unit 4 reached a tentative agreement for a first collective agreement on May 28. CUPE 4207-4 represents the Clinical Nursing Instructors at Brock.

    The agreement is subject to ratification by union membership and Brock’s Board of Trustees.

  • Conciliation sought in negotiations with CUPE 4207-4 for first collective agreement

    Representatives from the University and CUPE 4207-4, which represents Clinical Nursing Instructors at Brock, have been actively bargaining for a first collective agreement. This employee group was certified on Feb. 6, 2023, by the Ontario Labour Relations Board and the parties have been meeting since October 2023. The parties have made some progress towards reaching a tentative deal.

    The Union applied to the Ontario Ministry of Labour and requested the appointment of a conciliation officer. A union or employer can apply to the Ontario Ministry of Labour for help in reaching an agreement. The parties have agreed to meet in conciliation on April 4 and April 5.

    The University remains committed to reaching a negotiated settlement and looks forward to continuing discussions with CUPE 4207-4.
