Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) Key Performance Indicators include Graduation Rates, Employment Rates and OSAP Default Rates. These metrics are made available as part of MCU policy requirements.
Graduation Rates are calculated by following an undergraduate cohort entering their first year of study and measuring the percentage of students that graduated within 7 years.
Employment Rates are calculated by the percentage of graduates of bachelors or first professional degree programs, active in the labour force either 6 months or 2 years following their graduation. These numbers are determined based on the results of the annual Ontario University Graduate Survey (OUGS).
OSAP Default Rates are calculated by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities. It measures the percentage of students issued Canada-Ontario Integrated Student Loans (COISL) who did not receive loans or grants through OSAP the following year, and who defaulted on their repayment responsibilities.
