Whether you prefer to express yourself through a heartfelt video or a thoughtfully written letter, your words of thanks mean a lot. These messages not only show your gratitude but also highlight the impact of their support.

Record a video
Create a short video (1-2 minutes) sharing your story, achievements, and how the award has made a difference in your educational journey.
Write a letter
Write a personal letter expressing your gratitude, sharing your experiences, and describing the positive effects of the award on your studies.
Video Recording
Information regarding the donor has been included with your award notification email. If there are multiple donors listed, you will need to record and submit a thank you video for each person separately. If you have received more than one award, a separate thank you video should be submitted for each award.
Letter

If there are multiple donors listed, you will need to write and submit a thank –you letter for each person separately. If you have received more than one award, you will need to write a separate thank you letter should be submitted for each award. When you have completed your letter(s), please complete the form at the bottom of this page to submit your letter(s).
Your thank you letter should be 2-3 paragraphs and around 200 words. Do not include your personal address, phone number, email, student number, or award amount in the letter.
Your letter may include the following:
- Donor’s name
- Thank the donor(s) for the specific award you received
- Tell the donor about yourself: program and year of study, future career goals, etc.
- Why you picked Brock University
- How this award will make a difference in helping you start or continue your university education or how their support will assist you in achieving academic and other life goals
- Your future educational/career goals
- Tell the donor about your best experience(s) at Brock
- What winning this award means to you
- Your commitment to do well with the donor’s investment
- Check that the donor’s name is spelled correctly
- Include the title of the specific award
- Check for spelling and/or grammatical errors
- Proofread your letter and have a friend or family member read it
