Research

The Institute, at the direction of its members, will serve as a clearinghouse for research, academic partnerships, and development projects for researchers and academics from Canada and the Caribbean. By aligning the Institute’s initiatives with the UN Global Goals of ending poverty, climate action, good health and well-being, reducing inequalities, quality education, industry, innovation, and economic growth, the Institute will benefit from a transdisciplinary and multi-national approach to addressing several of the world’s greatest challenges.

The Canada-Caribbean Institute publishes abstract proceedings from its annual research symposium related to the economic, environmental, and societal issues that are vital to the shared prosperity and advancement of the Caribbean and Canada as they relate to the following areas:

  • Caribbean Economic Growth and Trade with Canada
  • Health and the Environment in Canada and the Caribbean
  • Social Issues and Education in Canada and the Caribbean
