The finish line is in sight for Brock University’s soon-to-be newest graduates, who will make their milestone walks across the stage at Fall Convocation.
Here’s everything graduands and their guests need to know before Brock’s 120th Convocation on Friday, Oct. 16.
Ceremony schedule and location
The one-day celebration includes ceremonies at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Both ceremonies will be held in the Ian D. Beddis Gymnasium, located in the Walker Sports Complex. They will also be livestreamed at brocku.ca/livestream
Arrival information for graduands and guests
Graduands and guests are advised to arrive 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony and enter through the main doors of the Walker Complex.
Fall Convocation guests will need to have an electronic ticket for entry to the ceremony venue. All eligible graduating students are entitled to two complimentary tickets that must be claimed in advance. Electronic tickets must be presented upon entry to the gymnasium. Each ticket contains a unique barcode and may only be used by one guest. Once scanned, a ticket becomes invalid. Additional guests who attend without a valid electronic ticket will be directed to the overflow room to watch the ceremony livestream.
Convocation guests and participants are reminded that signs, flags, large bags and other large items are not permitted at the ceremonies.
Post-Convocation celebrations
Graduates and their guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and photo opportunities after each ceremony at the New Alumni Celebration in the Rankin Family Pavilion.
Master’s and PhD graduates and their guests are also invited to visit the GRAD² Celebration Area on the upper level of the Rankin Family Pavilion after the morning and afternoon ceremonies for sweet treats, swag bags and photo opportunities.
Class of 2026 graduates are encouraged to update their contact information with Brock University Alumni Relations.
Online celebration toolkit
Brock graduands can mark this milestone moment in their lives using the University’s online celebration toolkit, which includes Convocation-themed cover photos, digital wallpapers, Instagram filters and Giphy stickers for grads and their families. The toolkit also includes a photo trail map highlighting some of the most iconic and scenic spots on campus.
Grads are encouraged to share their photos on social media with the hashtag #BrockUGrad so the University can celebrate with them.
Campus Store
The Brock Campus Store will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, with an additional pop-up store in the Walker Complex offering a variety of University gifts and gear as well as degree frames from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Complimentary diploma framing is available with the purchase of a degree frame, with the option to preorder online or on site at the Campus Store pop-up.
Parking
Complimentary parking will be available for Fall Convocation graduands and guests. Please follow the directional signage to Lots D and B1. If these lots are full, overflow parking will be available in Lot 3. An accessible drop-off location is available at the entrance to the Walker Complex and accessible parking is available in Lot P. Carpooling and ride sharing are encouraged.
