It might be a short walk across the stage, but Convocation marks a significant step for Brock University’s newest graduates.
Here’s everything graduands, guests and community members need to know as approximately 3,000 Badgers prepare to celebrate their success during Brock’s 119th Convocation.
Ceremony schedule and location
Spring Convocation runs from Tuesday, June 9 to Friday, June 12. Ceremonies will take place at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day except Friday, when only a morning ceremony is scheduled.
All ceremonies will be held in the Ian D. Beddis Gymnasium, located in the Walker Sports Complex, and streamed at brocku.ca/livestream
Arrival and check-in for guests and graduands
Graduands and guests are advised to arrive 90 minutes before the start of the ceremony.
Each graduand is welcome to bring two guests. Tickets are not required to attend, but guests must check in upon arrival and are encouraged to bring the name and student ID number of the graduand they’re celebrating.
Convocation guests and participants are reminded that signs, flags, large bags and other large items are not permitted at the ceremonies.
Post-ceremony celebrations
Graduates and their guests are invited to enjoy light refreshments and photo opportunities after each ceremony at the New Alumni Celebration in the Rankin Family Pavilion.
Master’s and PhD graduates are also invited to a special celebration in the upper level of the Rankin Family Pavilion. The Grad² Celebration area, which will be available after every ceremony, will include photo opportunities, sweet treats, refreshments and the chance to mingle with fellow graduates, faculty and staff.
Class of 2026 graduates are encouraged to update their contact information with Brock University Alumni Relations.
Campus Store
The Brock Campus Store will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. A pop-up shop in the Walker Sports Complex outside the Hungry Badger will be open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from Tuesday to Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, offering gifts, Brock gear and diploma frames.
Class of 2026 hoodies and crewneck sweatshirts can be ordered in the Campus Store or at the Convocation pop-up shop.
Complimentary diploma framing is available at the pop-up with the purchase of a frame, which can be preordered online or purchased during the week.
Parking
Complimentary parking will be available exclusively for Convocation guests for all ceremonies. Directional signage will lead guests to Lots D and B, with accessible parking located in Lot P. If these lots are full, overflow parking will be available in Lots 3 and 2.
Carpooling and ride sharing are highly encouraged.
Online celebration toolkit
Graduands can join in the celebration by using Brock’s online toolkit, featuring Convocation-themed graphics, to help share the excitement. The toolkit also includes a photo trail map showcasing some of the most picturesque spots on campus.
Grads are encouraged to share their photos on social media with the hashtag #BrockUGrad so the University can celebrate with them.
