With Brock’s administrative offices closing for the holiday break, access to all University facilities will be limited from the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 24 until the morning of Friday, Jan. 2.
All exterior doors to all main campus buildings, including East Campus, and the Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts will be secured at 10 p.m. on Dec. 24 and remain locked until 6 a.m. on Jan. 2.
The Brock section of the Burlington Campus will close at noon on Dec. 24 and reopen Jan. 2. During this time, faculty and staff will be required to present their Brock ID at the security desk to enter the building and may have restricted access when the building is closed by the City of Burlington on Thursday, Dec. 25, Friday, Dec. 26 and Thursday, Jan. 1.
The Walker Sports Complex will run modified hours during the holiday closure:
- Wednesday, Dec. 24 — Closes at noon
- Thursday, Dec. 25 and Friday, Dec. 26 — Closed
- Saturday, Dec. 27 to Wednesday, Dec. 31 — Open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday, Jan. 1 — Closed
- Friday, Jan. 2. — Open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Anyone accessing the Walker Sports Complex is encouraged to check in at the Rankin Family Pavilion (RFP) for a safety and security reasons before entering the Walker Sports Complex building through the doors beside the tennis courts.
Members of the Brock community who require access to other areas of campus can enter the University via the RFP, which will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and staffed by Campus Safety Services. Anyone needing to enter the University outside of these times is asked to contact Campus Safety Services at 905-688-5550 x4300 when they arrive on campus.
A Brock Card or Photo ID will be required to access campus during the holiday closure and anyone entering the University must sign out via the Rankin Family Pavilion or call Campus Safety at 905-688-5550 x4300 when leaving campus.
Proxy card/swipe access will remain unaffected. Faculty and staff who require proxy card access will need to arrange for it through their department and Facilities Management.
During the holiday closure, all Brock students can receive 24-7 crisis counselling by calling 1-833-276-2533 (1-833-BROCK33) in North American and or 001-416-382-3257 from outside North America. Additional crisis resources can be found on the SWAC website.
