Thesis defences — Nov. 10 to Nov. 14

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Nov. 10 and Friday, Nov. 14.

Master of Arts in Child and Youth Studies thesis defence

JaCoya Laplante, a Master of Arts in Child and Youth Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “An Ideal Offender? Exploring How Discourses Surrounding Neurodivergent Justice-Involved Young People Affect Restorative Justice Conferences” on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 10 a.m. to noon in WH 147.

The examination committee includes Lisa Whittingham, Chair; Voula Marinos, Supervisor; Christopher O’Connor, External Examiner (Ontario Tech University); Heather Ramey, Graduate Program Director; and Shauna Pomerantz and Nadine Wallace, Committee Members.

Master of Arts in Critical Sociology thesis defence    

Alyssa Brew, a Master of Arts in Critical Sociology candidate, will defend the thesis “After Effects: Online response to the young adult series ‘After’ and the romanticization of abusive relationships in young adult literature” on Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to noon in PLZ 600 F.
