Brock University graduate student thesis defences are scheduled for next week. The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Oct. 6 and Friday, Oct. 10.
Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence
Nate Taylor, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Mental Health Matters: A Qualitative Study Describing the Mental Health-Performance Relationship in Sports Officials” on Thursday, Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in STH 361.

Master of Science in the Centre for Biotechnology thesis defence
Daniil Pozdniakov, a Master of Science in Biotechnology candidate, will defend the thesis “Cell Segmentation Using Spatial Transcriptomic Data From The Multi-objective Optimization Perspective” on Monday, Oct. 6 at 1 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defence
Yathusan Thulasinathan, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Transformer-Based Intrusion Detection for 5G Core Networks” on Wednesday, Oct. 8 at 2:30 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Science in Chemistry thesis defence
Roxanne Dekeyser, a Master of Science in Chemistry candidate, will defend the thesis “Novel Methods for Halogen Bond Enhancement on Rigid peri-Naphthalene Scaolds: Development to Catalysis” on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 1 p.m. in WH 147.
