The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Sept. 22 and Friday, Sept. 26.

Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence

Joshua Nowlan, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “The effects of hand and forearm cooling on self-paced cycling performance in the heat” on Friday, Sept. 26 from 8 to 11 a.m. in virtual format.

Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence

Mia Landry, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Investigating Experienced Female USPORT Coaches’ Process of Creating Positive Team Culture” on Friday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon in STH 361.

Master of ​Arts in Applied Health Sciences (Sport Management) thesis defence

David Pulgarin-Mesa, a Master of ​Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Stories in the Spotlight: Examining Athlete Branding Strategies of Elite Women’s Football Players during the 2023 Women’s World Cup” on Friday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon in WC 204.

Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies thesis defence    

Chantal Veilleux, a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Addressing Cultural Humility: Teaching Graduate Students Culturally Informed Self-Reflection using Intersectional Identity Case Scenarios” on Monday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. to noon in TH 150.

Samantha Kuno, a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Comparing the Effects of Acoustical Feedback and Praise within the TAGteach Framework to Teach Off-Ice Figure Skating Skills to Children” on Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in WH 147.
