Brock’s Homecoming Grape Stomp is set to return to the University’s main campus on Friday, Sept. 19.A beloved Brock tradition is set to return this week, bringing bushels of fun to the University’s main campus.
The annual Homecoming Grape Stomp will see hundreds of students and alumni — many dressed in white — dive into two metric tonnes of local Concord grapes, creating a juice slip and slide through Jubilee Court on Friday, Sept. 19.
Paying homage to Niagara’s wine country connections, the highly anticipated event kicks off at noon, with check-in beginning at 11:30 a.m.
“There’s nothing quite like being in the middle of a flurry of flying fruit surrounded by your Brock University family. It’s an unforgettable experience,” says Carolyn Hough, Manager, Student Leadership and Engagement. “There’s a reason why this event has been called one of the best university traditions in Canada.”
In addition to the stomping fun, the day will also feature live music by Avenue Inn — filled with alumni band members — and a free barbecue, sponsored by Aramark (while supplies last). The menu will include burgers, spiced chippers and grape cotton candy, with dietary accommodations available.
To register for Grape Stomp, visit ExperienceBU. New this year are Grape Stomp Spirit Packs, including white T-shirt (for maximum splatter effect) and limited-edition Grape Stomp stickers and temporary tattoos. They can be purchased in advance on University Tickets.
Grape Stomp is part of Brock’s Homecoming weekend, joining a packed list of events that also includes the Steel Blade Classic Hockey Game at the Meridian Centre.
