The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, July 14 and Friday, July 18.

Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences (Health Sciences) thesis defence

Rita Kocsis, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Breakfast in the Digital Age: The Influence of Social Media Use and Diet Content on Eating Behaviours among Canadian Adolescents” on Monday, July 14 from 9 a.m. to noon in STH 361.

Master of ​Science in Applied Health Sciences (Kinesiology) thesis defence

Taylor Tiessen, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Dynamic Strength Index and Countermovement Jump Performance in Female and Male Collegiate Basketball Athletes Across a Competitive Season” on Wednesday, July 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in WC 204.

Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics thesis defence

Sambavi Arulnandhy, a Master of Science in Mathematics and Statistics candidate, will defend the thesis “Enhanced EEG Spectral Decomposition with Applications to Neurodevelopmental Changes in ADHD” on Tuesday, July 15 at 9:30 a.m. in PLZ 600F.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defence

Sarfaroz Yunusov, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Towards Personalized LLMs: Investigating Narrative Generation and Personality-Based Preferences in Large Language Models” on Tuesday, July 15 at 10 a.m. in MCH 313.

Master of Science in Computer Science thesis defence

Nikta Gohari Sadr, a Master of Science in Computer Science candidate, will defend the thesis “Think or Step-by-Step? Unzipping the Black Box in Zero-Shot Prompts” on Wednesday, July 16 at 1 p.m. in MCH 313.
