Goodman prof to explore how ethical guidelines impact employee outcomes

While having clear sets of rules can provide helpful guidance for employees, they can also create stress in the workplace. Associate Professor of Human Resource Management Sadia Jahanzeb will explore the connection between rule-based ethical climates and employee outcomes during the next Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series event on Friday, March 14.

Jahanzeb’s presentation, “Rethinking the Rules: A Cross-Cultural Examination of Ethical Climate and Employee Outcomes,” will examine the varying relationships across cultures between workplace rules and employee outcomes, such as motivation, satisfaction and productivity.

Her research areas include workplace ostracism and organizational ethical climates, with her work being published in well-known journals including the Journal of Business and Psychology, the European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology and the Journal of Business Ethics.

Jahanzeb earned an MBA from the University of Karachi in Pakistan and a Master of Science in Management and PhD in Human Resources Management from International Islamic University in Pakistan.

The Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues. The talk will take place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Sankey Chamber.

Anyone interested in attending can RSVP to Flora Nah at [email protected] to reserve a seat.

The event is also part of the 60 Research Talks at Brock series, which celebrates 60 years of impactful research at the University.
