
From health care to finance, data-driven approaches can cut to the core of challenges, and potential solutions, faced by different sectors.
There are many tools and frameworks that can be used as well as data-driven approaches that at its core transform the understanding of these issues. Based on his recently published works, Professor of Information Systems Anteneh Ayanso will discuss data-driven research and the opportunities and challenges of working with textual data at the next Goodman School of Business Luncheon Speaker Series event.
His lecture, “Data-driven research: Leveraging textual data for domain-specific research challenges,” takes place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in Sankey Chamber on Friday Feb. 14.
Ayanso’s research integrates both structured and unstructured data to tackle research issues in diverse domains such as e-commerce, e-government, finance and health care. His work has been frequently published in leading journals, making significant contributions to the business and technology fields.
In recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, Ayanso has received several accolades, including Goodman’s Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, the Goodman Graduate Professor of the Year Award and the Distinguished Scholar of the Year Award from the Department of Finance, Operations and Information Systems.
The Luncheon Speaker Series provides Goodman faculty, staff and students with an informal opportunity to discuss recent advances in research, teaching and practices with business colleagues.
