The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Jan. 20 and Friday, Jan. 24.

Master of Science in Chemistry thesis defence

Sanaz Rajabalinia, a Master of Science in Chemistry candidate, will defend the thesis “Synthetic Approaches to Fluoroalkenes with Applications in Hydroetherification-type Reactivity” on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. in PLZ 600F.

Master of Science in Biotechnology thesis defence

Tais Bueno de Lima, a Master of Science in Biotechnology candidate, will defend the thesis “Early stages of germination, plant colonization and production of indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) by species of Metarhizium” on Thursday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. in MCD 403.

Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences (Health and Physical Education) thesis defence

Devon Boyle, a Master of ​Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Nature Sports Signatories of the United Nations Sports for Climate Action Framework: A Thematic Analysis” on Monday, Jan. 20 from 1 to 4 p.m. in online format.

Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences (Health Science) thesis defence

Rebecca Rios, a Master of Science in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “The Financial Burden Associated with Alternate Level of Care Patients in Niagara Region Hospitals” on Friday, Jan. 24 from 1 to 4 p.m. in STH 361.

Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies thesis defence      

Mahey Mehakpreet, a Master of Arts in Applied Disability Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Can Direct Service Providers Change Their Ability to Attend in the Present Moment with Mindfulness Training in Virtual Reality?” on Tuesday, Jan. 21 from 1 to 3 p.m. in virtual format.

Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence  

Andrew Armstrong, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “An Examination of Perfectionism and its Relationships with the Gambler’s Fallacy, Small World Propensity, Sleep Deprivation and the P300 Waveform” on Friday, Jan. 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. in PLZ 600F.
