Brock community mourns passing of retired longtime staff member

The Brock community is mourning the loss of retired staff member Jeanette Ramsay (BA ’89), who was known for her unwavering commitment to student success.

Ramsay held several positions during her 33 years as a Brock employee, including Academic Advisor and Assistant Registrar, Academic Advising in the Office of the Registrar as well as Faculty Academic Advisor in the Faculty of Social Sciences.

A proud Brock graduate, Ramsay earned a Bachelor of Arts in 1989.

“We are most definitely a Brock family,” said her son Jason Ramsay (BA ’92). “It is safe to say she was devoted to Brock University.”

His partner Adrienne Ramsay (BA ’93), née Incaviglia, and brother Chris Ramsay (BA ’95) are also Brock graduates.

Ramsay was inducted into Brock University’s Quarter Century Club in 2017 in recognition of her 25 years of dedicated service. She retired from Brock in January 2022.

“Jeanette was an amazing presence who had a significant influence on so many students, staff and faculty,” said Ingrid Makus, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Ramsay passed away June 15. Burial will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at Pleasantview Cemetery in Fonthill.
