Student businesses invited to enter Campus Store shelf space contest

Brock student entrepreneurs have a chance to see their products on the shelves of the Campus Store thanks to a contest delivered by Brock LINC and the Campus Store.

The contest’s winner will be provided with mentorship and dedicated Campus Store retail space from September 2024 to April 2025 at no cost. The winner will also have their product on the store website.

“We’re thrilled to be able to promote our student entrepreneurs in our store as our way of supporting the student experience,” says Campus Store Manager Stephanie Nobles.

The deadline for this year’s contest to showcase a student’s products in the Campus Store is Thursday, Feb. 15.

“We encourage students who have retail-based businesses to apply to this contest for a chance to expand their business while developing entrepreneurial skills,” says Brock LINC Program Manager Cassie Conte.

The contest has had a significant impact on Trinity Samarita, last year’s winner.

“It impacted my sales in a great way as I didn’t know I was able to sell that much,” says Samarita, a third-year Concurrent Teacher Education student. “So many people told me how much they loved the designs.”

Samarita displayed some items from her clothing business Oopsie Daisy Apparel in the Campus Store and on the store’s website to display for almost a year.

Those interested in entering the contest can apply on the Brock LINC website. For more information, email Conte at cconte@brocku.ca
