OPINION: Board Chair Mark Arthur on Brock’s importance to the community

Mark Arthur, Chair of Brock’s Board of Trustees, wrote a piece published in the St. Catharines Standard about how Brock’s ability to act as a force for good across Niagara and beyond is in jeopardy after years of financial pressures that have now reached historic levels.

He writes:

“A little more than 60 years ago, members of the Allanburg Women’s Institute rallied their neighbours to fundraise and advocate for the creation of a public university in Niagara.

They envisioned a university that wasn’t just in our community, but of our community, woven into its very fabric — a university that could serve the needs of Niagara and, eventually, beyond.”
