Brock ITS to roll out new Teams default app

Brock’s Information Technology Services (ITS) team will be upgrading users to a new Microsoft Teams default application on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

While the update will happen automatically, users can opt to switch over to the new version of Teams already by flipping the toggle in the top left corner of the app.

Benefits of the new version include faster performance, improved flexibility and synchronization for users accessing multiple accounts, and enhanced notification, search and channel organization features.

Microsoft will retire the classic version of Teams after Sunday, March 31.

The Brock ITS team expects that users will not be impacted by the update. Questions, concerns or Microsoft Teams access issues can be directed to the Help Desk by submit an online ticket or calling 905-688-5550 x4357 (HELP). Walk-in support is available at the ITS Help Desk locations in the Campus Store (Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and the Computer Commons (Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
