Thesis defences — Nov. 27 to Dec. 1

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Monday, Nov. 27 and Friday, Dec. 1.

Master of Arts in Psychology thesis defence      

Gurprince Attlas, a Master of Arts in Psychology candidate, will defend the thesis “Effects of cross-fostering on behaviour and neural development in Octodon degus pups” on Monday, Nov. 27 at 9:30 a.m. in CRN 207.

The examination committee includes Heather Ramey, Chair; Paula Duarte-Guterman, Supervisor; Rebecca MacPherson, External Examiner (Brock University); Michael Busseri, Graduate Program Director; and Carolyn Bauer and Charlis Raineki, Committee Members.

PhD in Applied Health Sciences

Filip Vlavcheski, a PhD in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Carnosic acid against insulin resistance and obesity. Investigating its effects on adipocytes.” on Friday, Dec. 1 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. in MCD 350L.

The examination committee members are Elizabeth Vlossak, Chair; Evangelia Tsiani, Supervisor; Lindsay Robinson, External Examiner (University of Guelph); Jeff Stuart, Internal Examiner; and Rebecca MacPherson, Hui Di Wang and Val Fajardo, Advisory Committee.

PhD in Biological Sciences

Hannah Charnock, a PhD in Biological Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “The Maillard reaction in traditional method sparkling wine” on Friday, Dec. 1 from 1 to 4 p.m. in virtual format.
