Podcasting event to explore role of guests, interviewers

Brock students, faculty and staff are invited to the next Podcast Learning Network event, which will explore ways podcast guests and interviewers can ask and answer interesting questions.

The online panel discussion will be held on Teams from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 19. Topics discussed will include the role of the podcast host, interview preparation for hosts and guests, and some of the ethical issues that can arise with an interview format podcast.

Guest speakers include Cassidy Cash, a historical map illustrator and host of the popular podcast That Shakespeare Life; Aven McMaster, co-host of The Endless Knot Podcast; and Cathy Majtenyi, a writer and Brock Communications Specialist focusing on research at the University.

The session will be of particular interest to researchers who may be invited to be guests on a podcast. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Those interested in attending are asked to register via ExperienceBU to receive the Teams link.

The recently launched Podcast Learning Network is funded by the Faculty of Humanities and facilitated by Alison Innes, Strategic Initiatives and Outreach Officer in the Faculty of Humanities. Sessions are organized in collaboration with the Department of Digital Humanities, the Brock University Library’s Makerspace and the Office of Research Services.
