Thesis defences — Sept. 5 to Sept. 8

The following is a list of thesis defences taking place between Tuesday, Sept. 5 and Friday, Sept. 8.

Master of Science in Biotechnology thesis defence

Anneliese von Eicken, a Master of Science in Biotechnology candidate, will defend the thesis “Characterization of Negeviruses and insect virome interactions during co-infection in cell culture” on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 a.m. in WH 147.

Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences (Community Health) thesis defence

Stephanie Wadge, a Master of Arts in Applied Health Sciences candidate, will defend the thesis “Gender matters: exploring the mental health of youth experiencing homelessness, a qualitative study” on Tuesday, Sept. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in STH 361.

Master of Arts in Critical Sociology thesis defence

Tayler Vajda, a Master of Arts in Critical Sociology candidate, will defend the thesis “The Contribution of Male Allyship to the Struggle for Gender Equity in the Workplace: A Study in Experimental Sociology” on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 10 a.m. to noon in virtual format.

Joint PhD in Educational Studies thesis defence

Karen Julien, a Joint PhD in Educational Studies candidate, will defend the thesis “Emotions, Emotion Regulation, and Interpersonal Emotion Regulation for Academic Writing: A Collective Case Study with Doctoral Students” on Thursday, Sept. 7 from 1 to 4 p.m. in PLZ 600F.
